Department of Skill Development (DSD), Office of Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information and Communication Technology (MICT), National Software Industry Promotion Agency (Public Organization) (SIPA) and the National Electronics and Computer Technology Centre (NECTEC), which is a member of the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), corporately signed the memorandum of understanding calling "The development of information technology professionals". Mr.Sue Lo-utai, Permanent Secretary of the MICT revealed that both 4 governmental agencies have unanimously agreed on standardizing the skills development to meet the needs of the labor market. Those have, therefore, conducted the joint-cooperation agreement to form the National Skill Standards for Information Technology and develop the IT personnel in 3 areas, -- i.e., computer-system professional analyst, information technology project provider, and computer network professional security which the MICT commonly takes care of the academic science (SIPA), modern media and software development (NECTEC), including enlightening the IT knowledge. M.L.Puntrik Smiti, the Deputy Director-General of the DSD, revealed that the Department is responsible for the preparation of the National Labour Skill Standards and names the sub-committee to determine the standard for each kind of job personnel under control of the Board of the Skill Development Promotion following the Labour Skill Development Act Year 2002. Moreover, there is a conference to settle the standard of labour skills and guidelines of the Skill Testing between four parties. Additionally, those workers will altogether be developed according to the demands of the labor market as well as the advancement of IT and communications that are the key factors in sustainably developing countries. |
