Between 19th and 21st April 2010, a group of four labour inspectors consisting of an Inspector-General from MOL (Mr. Arthit Issamo), Mr. Vinai Latgaviboon, an Inspector-General from the Department of Labour Protection and Welfare, Ms. Rattana Kateratanakul, an Inspector-General from the Social Security Office, and Mrs. Suchitra Pollit, a professional personnel, went to supervise the Office of Labour Affiars Royal Thai Embasy Japan , consult with IMM Japan, and make a visit to Thai trainees in Japan as following: • To make a visit and to consult with Thai Ambassador at the Royal Thai Embassy Tokyo ( Mr. Virasakdi Fultrakul) The Ambassador gave some advices on the following issues: 1) the preparation on elderly care of Thai labours after Thai-Japan FTA is completed; 2) the preparation of Thai labours following the relocation of Japanese production bases to Thailand to meet 25 percent yearly reduction of carbon dioxide by 2020 to counter global warming problem; 3) the training of Thai trainees to improve labours’ quality in order to meet Japanese standard before they come to Japan. • To monitor and make a visit to the Office of Labour Affairs Royal Thai Embassy Japan Minister Counselor (Labour) had welcomed the group and reported the summary of the work of the Office of Labour Affairs Royal Thai Embassy Japan. In this regard, the Inspectors-General had given some advices on the Office of Labour Affairs’s following operations; 1) Documents Management; 2) Budget Management and Control Policy ; 3) Labour Protection & Employment Promotion Strategy • To consult with IMM Japan’s Chairman about Thai Trainees The group of labour inspectors from MOL had asked for the cooperation of IMM Japan to consider taking more Thai trainees. In this regard, the Chairmen of IMM Japan had indicated that Thai labours were skillful & quality and there was a possibility that IMM Japan would accept more Thai trainees. Between 28th and 30th May, IMM Japan in cooperation with MOL and the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI) in Tokyo, therefore, would hold up a seminar of employers who trained Thai trainees for in order to promote them to take more Thai trainees. • To make a visit to Yamazaki Mold Co., Ltd, in Kanagawa The group of inspector from MOL had made a visit to five Thai trainees who were training with Yamazaki Mold Co., Ltd’s employer. They were training in a metal mold production of container/ plastic tray for containing ready to eat food in the convenient stores and shopping malls business sector. This required advanced technologies to manufacture molds for plastic extrusion molding through vacuum forming. The group went to see how Thai trainees were trained and discussed with them about their problems. They also gave them support and had lunch with them.
