Mr. Pongsak further stated that the number of people who faced an accident occurring from working in 2008 was 613 deaths, 15 disabilities, 3,069 losses organs. In 2009, (January-October), there were 487 deaths, 5 disabilities, 1,682 loss organs. Construction business in particular, in 2008 there were 83 deaths, 1 disability. Besides, the Draft on Occupational Safety, Health, Working Environment was also proposed to House of Representative on 11 November 2009 as well as Cabinet’s resolution on 10 November 2009 which acknowledged the establishment of Office of Labour Safety inside Office of Labour Protection and Welfare in which minister of labour already signed and promulgated in Gazette according to the cabinet’s resolution (19 December 2006) Hence, throughout 2010, the national agenda on Health and Safety of labour is a significant policy of which Office of Labour Protection and Welfare and Office of Social Security has to push an effort implement for setting up labour standard. |
