On 30 June 2 April 2008, Labour Office in Japan welcomed Permanent Secretary (Mr. Chuthatawat Indrasukhsri) and Director General (Mr. Padungsak Thephasdin na Ayudhya) and officers from the Department of Labour Protection and Welfare with total of 16 persons who visited Japan for a study visit on labour protection system under the FTA in Osaka, Chitsuoka and Ibaraki prefectures and Tokyo city. The team led by Permanent Secretary visited Osaka Labour Department to study on policies, laws and regulations on promotion, development and monitoring of foreign workers who are working in Japan, including labour inspection, receive and judging complaints of workers who have been exploited on wage payment and compensation. Also having a study visit on workers in fishery industry at Nimatsu city, Chisuka prefecture and workers in agricultural industry (planting) at Ibaraki prefecture. |
