 SSO  detailed guidelines on sending workers and insured persons to Worker Rehabilitation Center

              Mr. Surin Chiravisit, Secretary General, Social Security Office (SSO) said that Worker Rehabilitation Center has produced guidelines on sending workers and insured persons to receive rehabilitation and training under the condition that they must be insured persons who had accident or sickness related-to-work and lost their capacities to work.  After receiving preliminary treatment, they need to have rehabilitation.  If they are disabled insured persons, age 15 years, no need for knowledge, can assist themselves on doing their personnel daily routine, having disability character that can be rehabilitated, no drug addict or mad, no severe diseases.  For the needed documents to apply for services at the Center are Center application, copy of ID card, copy of house registration, copy of compensation (Kor Tor 8), copy of accident/sickness/lose letter, compensation request form (Kor Tor 16), medical certification, medical treatment history (registration), X-ray film (if any), and meeting report of Sub-committee on Social Security announcing their disability for the case that they are disabled person.
              Secretary General said further that the Office had 1 Worker Rehabilitation Center in Pathumthani province and 1 Eastern Regional Worker Rehabilitation Center in Rayong.  The 2 Centers provide medical rehabilitation couple with mind and social rehabilitation with a full cycle of services, including career guidance for employment of people with disability.  In addition, medical rehabilitation services for workers and insured persons will cover operation for correcting disability, nursing, physical therapy, psudo-organs, and walking stick, including career training according to their disability.
              For other rehabilitation expenses both medical and career training of workers and insured persons, they can reimburse as paying but not exceed 20,000 Baht, for operation expenses for rehabilitation can reimburse not exceed 20,000 Baht.  Workers can claim their benefits at Workmen’s Compensation Fund, Social Security Office.  For the case that workers have expenses more the maximum limit, such as, expenses for psudo-arm or leg can receive financial assistance from Kunakorn Foundation under Princess Sirintorn Royal Patronage.
               Interested persons can apply and submit the request at Pathumthani Worker Rehabilitation Center, ph: 0-2567-0847-9 or Eastern Regional Worker Rehabilitation Center in Rayong province, ph: 038-877-246, 038-897-500 or contact Social Security office, ph: 1506 or answering machine for 24 hours or directly contact with officer everyday from 07.00 – 19.00 hrs or visit website: www.sso.go.th.
