 ASEAN Labour Ministers’ Meeting 
ASEAN Labour Ministers’ Meeting (ALMM) 
ALMM is a meeting of labour leaders of Minister level from 10 Asean country members, including Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Phillippines, Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam (membership granted in 1995), Laos, and Myanmar (membership granted in 1997), and Cambodia (membership granted on 30 April 1999).   ALMM is held regularly every year, and is hosted by member countries on a rotation basis by alphabetical order.   
Objectives of the Meeting 
The objectives of ALMM are to dialogue and exchange views on labour problems and to examine ways for cooperation among Asean sub-regional countries in the fields of labour and manpower.   Through this Meeting, ALMM delegates will jointly set direction and decide on collaborations in various labour related projects, specifically, in the following fields: 
 Collection, analysis, and dissemination of labour and manpower information, as well as a joint planning of the Operation Plan. 
 Provision of funding for scholarships and study tours in labour management, manpower development, employment promotion, labour relations profession development and training, and other relevant fields.   
 Supports for the organization of meetings and seminars in labour statistics collection methodology, under-employment, unemployment, labour relations of employers’ and employees’ organizations, occupational health, and various ILO’s Conventions.    
 A review/examination by each country on foreign investment in respect of employment, labour discrimination, income distribution, labour migration, and the basic needs at sub-regional level and in each member country for the business the does not have wage management system.  
 Occupational health and working environment, as well as ILO related topics.   
 Special attention to the development of labour intensive industries/job creation projects, child labour protection, labour productivity, wage system, and human resource development.     
 Collaborative project in the development of appropriate technical studies in agro-industry and management development.    
 Development and promotion of appropriate policies on population and technical studies relating to labour.

 Meeting 9  23-24 November 1992, Manila, Phillippines
 Meeting 10  16-17 May 1994, Singapore
